Diploma in Community Health Nursing

A three-year full-time course preparing holistic nurse professionals who can work anywhere there is a patient or a client.

Post Registered Nursing - Diploma in Midwifery

A one-year full-time course for candidates with prior nursing qualification, playing a vital role in preventing maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality.

Higher National Diploma in Kenya Registered Critical Care Nursing

Specialized training for nurses to alleviate pain and suffering through compassionate care in critical care settings.

Higher National Diploma in Kenya Registered Nephrology Nursing

Specialized training to address the burden of non-communicable diseases through expert nephrology nursing care.

Authorized Remar NCLEX Training

In partnership with Kenyan Nurse consultants Limited, providing English proficiency training, BLS/ACLS, and relocation support for global market transition.

BLS/ACLS Training & Short Courses

Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support training along with other short-term clinical skills training programs.

Course Intakes

Community Health Nursing training

Diploma in Community Health Nursing

The diploma in community health nursing program is a three-year full-time course, with intake in April and September. The course prepares the novice candidate with a passion in nursing to be a holistic nurse professional who can work in anywhere there is a patient or a client.

Midwifery training

Post Registered Nursing - Diploma in Midwifery

Post Registered Nurse -Diploma in Midwifery is a one-year full time course with intake in October. This offered to candidates who have prior qualification in a nursing course. The graduates from the course plays a vital role in preventing maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality as we embrace the EWENE framework.

Critical Care Nursing training

Higher National Diploma in Kenya Registered Critical Care Nursing and Nephrology Nursing

With increase in the non-communicable diseases and the burden associated with it, our specialized nurses trained in critical care and nephrology nursing are key in alleviating pain and suffering to the patients and their families through offering compassionate care. Our intakes are in April and September.

NCLEX training

Remar NCLEX Training

Catherine McAuley Nursing School is an Authorized Remar NCLEX training in partnership with Kenyan Nurse consultants Limited. The training ensures smooth transition of our nurses and midwives in the global market by: Providing English proficiency training and exams i.e. IELTS, TOEFL, OET, PTE, conducting of BLS, ACLS and other short-term clinical skills training programs in the institution and above all the consultants are responsible in the relocation of a student top-up study-abroad program.

Compliance

Available resources have been cross-checked against the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) Skills Laboratory checklist to confirm full compliance and availability of all recommended items for all the trainings. The college is fully accredited by the regulatory body the Nursing Council of Kenya and TVETA.

Academic Resources

State of the art lecture room

Lecture Rooms

The school has state of the earth equipped lecture rooms fitted with Tv screens for theoretical teaching and learning. This embraces technology by use of hybrid and face to face modes of content delivery. Use of technology through virtual ensures very minimal interruption of content delivery to the learners hence completing their studies within the prescribed period.

Each lecturer room is equipped with student armed seats, notice board, a 75-inch smart TV, a whiteboard, and appropriate lighting and ventilation to support effective teaching and learning.

Skills laboratory

Skills Laboratory

A dedicated and well-equipped skills laboratory is available for the exclusive use by all learners. The lab is designed to simulate a real-world clinical environment for practical skill development. The laboratory is stocked with specialized anatomical models and charts, simulators, and equipment relevant to nursing and midwifery care.

Library Resources

The institution provides comprehensive library services through physical, digital, and computer-based platforms to support the teaching, learning and research needs of both faculty and the learners.

A dedicated, quiet-study physical library is available with ample resources specific for the learners for all the programs. The library maintains an up-to-date collection of textbooks, reference materials, and print journals focused on general nursing, community health nursing, midwifery, reproductive health, and related disciplines.

A modern computer library provides students and faculty with access to digital resources and online research tools with fully functional desktop computers, Internet Connectivity at a high-speed, reliable internet with a bandwidth of 75 Mbps.

The support from the computer library is accorded by a dedicated IT professional and a librarian who assist with technical and research.

The institution provides an online library accessible via the Library Information Management System (LIMS) and Edu roam. Access is available on and off campus with secure login credentials. The system provides access to a wide range of e-resources, including e-books, full-text e-journals, academic databases, and multimedia content relevant to the programs.

Accommodation & Meals

The student friendly hostel rooms available at an affordable rate with hot water running in the showers however, the learners who wish to pursue their studies as day scholars are permitted. The catering team ensures high quality meals are provided to the learners considering those on special diet to ensure comfort during their training.

Beyond the Classroom & Clinical Areas

Counselling

The school offers full support for the learners who face different challenges during the training through counselling that is offered at different levels to include professionals based in school and the hospital.

Mentorship

Special mentorship program based on one to one, group is offered to assist learners cope with the studies amid their low moments in life. We have the allocated mother and father mentors among the school staffs who walks with the learners' facing challenges during their training to ensure competency and professionalism at the end of the training.

Cultural Day

Ensuring the art in nursing and midwifery, the school celebrates learners who have different talents by holding an annual event of the cultural day and awarding the winners.

Football & Chess Games

Our football teams "Catherine McAuley starlets and stars" have proved beyond doubt that indeed a competent nurse needs exercise. The discipline instilled during the games is transmitted to the academic set-up to ensure excellent production of professional nurses and midwives.

Dining Hall & Lounge

The learners have a lounge fitted with comfortable couches and a television set where they continuous be updated on the current matters all round the world as they watch the television. The dining area has microwaves and a fridge apart from the dining tables and chairs to enable learners take safe meals.

Spiritual Welfare

Embracing Catherine McAuley values of "Christ centeredness" the school have active Young Catholic Students and Christian Union that prepares them to give the best service to the patients/clients in the way Christ taught and wish us to do. The unique active participation during the liturgical celebrations in compared to no other institutions worldwide.

Our Muslim learners are not left out neither, they are given freedom to worship and attend their prayers in the space provided by the hospital or the nearest mosque.

The school has partnered with HELB to offer academic scholarship for our Higher national diploma nurses and midwives.
